Summer is here and that means music and theater! If you are looking for something fun to do in the area, search no farther. Eden Marketing's owner Roman Warmke serves on the Board of Directors for Ohio Valley Summer Theater, and do they have some amazing shows lined up this season.

Our good friends (and valued clients) up at the Playhouse Square in Cleveland, Ohio have a show of their own to boast about. Disney's "Lion King" runs August 2nd to September 9th so yell "Hakuna Matada" and get on up there if you can.

And if you need a blast of music to compliment your entertainment meal, head on down to Athens on July 2st for the 3rd Annual Boogie on the Bricks, a free concert brought to you by the merchants of Athens, including "Event Partners" Eden Marketing. This years fest features the Bluerunners from New Orleans and Athens' own Royales.

A couple new launches to tell you about. We recently completed a site for Sue Gilad, our good friend from New York City who wrote the popular tome "Proofreading for Dummies." Judging by the grammatical mistakes on this news page, perhaps we should have bartered, eh? ;)

And Green Truck Systems is now online.The brainchild of Roman's childhood friend Gabe, this project aims to retro fit vehicles to utilize waste vegetable oil as fuel. This allows businesses to save money, reduce carbon emissions and protect our environment.

Sometimes our best work cannot readily be shown off to you, as a lot of our work involves building "internal" websites that serve the inner workings of a particular business. Using internet technologies to improve worker production and moral is something we are often called on to do. Some of our recent projects in this arena include the Integrated Service Systems' website, as well as the My Mini Medical Plan.

Integrated Service Systems is a local non profit organization who's focus is is on people involved with County Courts and Job & Family Services, including Child Welfare. Eden recently replaced their outdated public website with a new skin, and also created a fully controlled backend where they now run a "virtual office."

My Mini Medical Plans allow the good folks over at Southeastern Agency to create unique informational websites for each of their health insurance clients. By logging onto the system, customers can see personalized information and benefit plans.

Eden Marketing is proud to feature the new website for Mound Hill Outfitters, a Southeastern Ohio hunting ground and bed and breakfast run by Jason Williams and Jason Snyder.

We've been doing a lot of work on insurance agents websites recently. Reed & Baur Insurance of Athens, Ohio provides individual and group insurance for home, business, life, auto, and more. Our good friend and owner Paula Dillon is a delight to work for, and we are happy to add her to our growing roster of VIPs who get weekly attention by our talented staff.

Central Ohio Group Insurance and the Packard Insurance Agency recently hired Eden in a joint mission to make two similar "sister" sites that mirror each other but have enough differention to make them personalized and unique. Our friends Lisa and Mason Chambers recently upgraded their website for Five Springs Farms of Athens, Ohio. They now have a nice clean modern interface with a full back end content management system so they can make updates on their own.

Bryan Everson specializes in "pyrotechnic art" and now does so online through Burning Embers dot net. Through the process of combustion the world renews itself and is reborn. The pyrographer endeavors to harness the transformative element, to strike a balance between the forces of creation and destruction, chaos and order, that something unexpected comes to be. Where the destructive flame passes, from the burning embers arises a new creation.

Best Ad Campaign, Best Pizza: Avalanche Pizza

Avalanche Pizza is known for many things, such as its great deals on pizza, wide variety of menu items and tasty pesto sauce. I love the pesto sauce. If it were legal to marry a pesto sauce, I would consider it. The restaurant is also known around Athens for its creative, funny and apparently effective advertising campaigns. The business puts together some very humorous ads, and our readers enjoy them immensely, making Avalanche Pizza the runaway winner in this category.

Best Live Music Nightspot: Blue Gator

Once again, the Blue Gator opens its mighty cerulean jaws to snap up the top prize as Athens' Best Live Music Nightspot. This bar/restaurant consistently brings in top blues and rock acts from near, far and wide.

Best Band/Performer: The Royales

Oops, they did it again, but without wearing those hot schoolgirl outfits. The Royales, like last year, take top honors in the Best of Athens Best Local Band category. This has been a good year for this rocking R&B squad, who managed to finally finish their first CD while solidifying their hold on the mantle of best live band in Athens.

Eden Marketing, in conjunction with Ohio University Rentals, launched OHIO CATERING dot net, a full blown website intended to give you specific information for your next catered party or event.

Our good friends over at Playhouse Square in Cleveland, Ohio, recently opened up a major bunch of stocking stuffers. They have a brand new Open Source e-Commerce area for online sales, a Forum for their customers to discuss all things dramatic, and a new newsletter for the play The Light in the Piazza.

Our good friends the Royales, the Funkin' Kings of Rock and Soul, (and Athens "Best Band" for 4 years running according to the readers of the Athens NEWS,) have recently put out their first full length CD, simply entitled "The Royales." Online sales, as well as sound samples and the like are available on their website located at www.theroyalesband.com.

Another new launch, www.bulldogs1953.com. This site, funded by the class of 1953, offers an area for AHS alumni and interested people to view photos, read updates and events, as well as communicate with their peers via the online forum.

Studio E Music of The Plains, Ohio, recently retained Eden Marketing to install an Open Source Commerce site to replace an old, outdated website they had been operating that had not been selling much of anything.

Eden Marketing was recently named "IT Company of the Year" by the The Information Technology Alliance of Appalachian Ohio (ITAAO) - a member of Ohio's IT Alliance.

ATHENS, OH (2006-07-27) When you think of southeast Ohio, the words "information technology" probably don't come too quickly to mind. But the president of the Information Technology Alliance of Appalachia Ohio says the region is booming with IT business. Gary Little says southeast Ohio has more than 400 information technology companies, ranging from computer game development to internet infrastructure. Little says the information technology industry offers a huge opportunity to boost southeast Ohio's economy.

"It surprises people sometimes to find out how much information technology activity is going on in the region," said Little. "Whether it is with public institutions like Ohio University and the other universities throughout the region, or whether it's with small businesses or large companies that have IT divisions."

The 5th annual Technology Industry Gurus of the Appalachian Region, or TIGER, Awards was held Wednesday.

We recently made a pretty cool addition to the Blue Gator Website , a new "events page" which features detailed information regarding each and every band performing at Athens Best Live Music Nightspot. Complete with links and images, this system includes a full back end intranet for the Gator staff to keep it as up to date as possible.

Other news besides being blessed with a ton of work is... we ended our "$400.00 website special on March 1 and will never, ever do that again. ;) - no it wasn't that bad but we never knew the demand would be so high. Though we find it a great solution for folks in need of simple projects, we found that we cared too darned much about each individual client to do such a quick job on them, so, we may run discount specials in the future, but for now, it's back to the tried and true methods that made us good in the first place.

We also have a TON of new clients, a list too long to recite here, but suffice it to say, Spring will be full of bright and shiny new things for us to play with. We also are doing a lot more traditional marketing services, which owner Rome LOVES as he gets to dust off his thinkin' cap and get even more creative than before.

Our December was filled with activity, working on a variety of projects that had us busy as ever. We completed the installation of the new Wholesale Sales section for Pachamama Imports of San Jose, California, and even threw in a complete website "Manager" for good measure.

In December, Eden's Marketing Division was commissioned by the good folks at Intelliwave, here in Athens, Ohio, to develop a marketing strategy for their wireless hi speed internet access.

Finally, been plugging away on the website for the Buckeye Meat Goat Marketing Alliance, a branch of the Ohio State University Dept. of Agriculture, and have learned more about livestock recently than we care to admit. The "Goat Site" as we call it, should be a baaaaaack up and running by February as well.
